Landmark Creations Builds Iconic 60-Foot MTV Moon Person for VMA Stage Design

For the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards, Landmark Creations collaborated with renowned set designer Julian Himede to create a 60-foot inflatable replica of MTV’s iconic Moon Person, which served as a monumental focal point at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.

The massive inflatable, meticulously assembled from over 5,000 individual pieces and requiring more than 1,000 construction hours, featured an open doorway as a unique stage entrance. Himede praised Landmark Creations’ precision in transforming his design into a towering, accurate stage element using laser-cut patterns and a digital sewing system for flawless assembly.

This iconic Moon Person exemplifies Landmark Creations’ capacity to handle complex, large-scale projects. It provides custom inflatables that elevate live event experiences for millions of viewers.
